CONSUMERS : Warm Fuzzies for the Home Computer

Share

Want to have more fun and make your home computer system more user friendly? Consider Computer Critters, plush creatures that attach easily to the top and sides of a computer terminal with hook-and-loop fasteners.

Computer Critters come in four species: a toothy green dragon, a pink bunny with a carrot in his paw, a brown bear cub and a friendly looking gray and white bulldog. They can be cleaned with a wet cloth.

“It seemed they were just the right thing to liven up a drab computer,” says Bobby Oh, Critters creator. Suggested retail for the animals is $24.95 for the rabbit and bear; $29.95 for the bulldog and dragon. In the Los Angeles area, they’re available at Computerland in West Hollywood and Pilgrim Cards and Gifts in Monrovia. Or you can order them from Celsus Designs Inc., P.O. Box 5401, Hacienda Heights, Calif. 91745, (800) 869-9229. Add $2.50 for shipping and handling.

Animal Aid Is the Disposable Kind

Here’s a handy product for dog owners--a completely disposable pooper scooper.

Petpro Products of Santa Monica just introduced Dispoz-a-Scoop, a wire-framed polyethylene-and-cornstarch bag with a heavy cardboard top that snaps shut and seals.

Suggested retail is $2.99 for a package of seven regular-size or five yard-size. In the Southern California area, they’re available at Petco Animal Supplies and the Pet Department chains, the Pet Shop in West Los Angeles, Wilshire Pets and the Cat and Dog House in Santa Monica, the Pet Barn in Pasadena, Discount Pet Foods in Encino and Pet Care in Laguna Beach.

Dispenser boxes of scoopers may be ordered from Petpro Products Inc., 2022-B Broadway, Santa Monica, Calif. 90404, (213) 828-6663. A box of 48 regular- or 36 yard-size costs $19.95, including shipping and handling.

Wrist-Strap Device Can Have Many Uses

Brennan Gray, a North Hollywood resident, developed Safety-Strap, which attaches to the wrist, so pet groomers wouldn’t drop their clippers.

But when his customers saw how well the 16-inch strap--with Velcro-like loops at either end and a slip release in the middle --works, they wanted it for tennis rackets, fishing rods and tools.

The navy strap costs $3, including shipping and handling, from Specialty Merchandise Unlimited, 12450 Magnolia Blvd., Suite 4181, North Hollywood, Calif. 91617; (818) 506-4245.
