Cher will rest her vocal cords and test her bowling arm Monday to raise money for a homeless shelter in Atlantic City. The singer and actress, in town to perform at the Sands Hotel & Casino, will participate in the $1,000-a-lane fund-raiser at the Showboat Hotel Casino. Proceeds will go to the 240-bed Atlantic City Rescue Mission. . . . Country singer and actor Hoyt Axton has filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years. Axton, 52, and his wife, Donna, separated Jan. 7. The filing in a Los Angeles court indicated that there is a premarital agreement that would give custody of their 7-year-old son, Matthew Christopher, to Donna Axton.
