Du Pont Co.: The Wilmington, Del., chemical giant said first-quarter net income declined 16% over a year ago to $615 million, while revenue rose 8% to $9.4 billion. The firm attributed the drop to expenses from business restructurings and weakness in the automotive and housing industries.
