Diamond Bar : Televised Meetings Weighed

The city’s Planning Commission said it will consider June 11 whether to allow a local cable company to broadcast its meetings.

“Television and radio play an active part in modern society’s democratic process,” Planning Commissioner Clair Harmony said Monday in a press release.

Council meetings also may be televised soon. Jones Intercable of Walnut Valley, which has 16,000 subscribers in Diamond Bar and Rowland Heights, has offered to broadcast meetings, either live or tape-delayed, said Joe Dunn, video production coordinator for the cable company. The service would be free to the city.
