Turner Development Co., Newport Beach, and Ken Ruby Construction Co., Los Angeles, said Thursday that they have bought 35 acres in Montclair for $8.3 million and plan to build an industrial park and retailing center at the site.
The seller of the site for the new Turner Montclair Center was CalMat Properties Co. of Irwindale.
Construction on the $42-million project is to begin in July.
Turner says it sees strong demand from small businesses wanting to buy buildings near the Montclair Plaza mall.
