The United States won its fourth consecutive game as Kevin Stevens scored twice in a 5-3 victory over winless West Germany at the World Hockey Championships at Bern, Switzerland.

The victory assured Team USA of a place in next year’s A pool. The United States, which finished sixth last year, has eight points in the relegation pool and leads Finland by three with games remaining against the Finns and Norway.
