DANGEROUS LIAISONS

Share

At age 16, I am not sexually active, but with all the recent discoveries of new sexually transmitted diseases, I’m wondering if I ever will be.

I admire Dr. Connolly for wanting to “protect a woman’s right to sexuality without harmful consequences,” but I’m afraid that our sexual rights diminish with the discovery of each new disease. Pretty soon abstention will be the only way to prevent these diseases, and we will be forced to sacrifice our rights to sexuality just to stay alive.

I am thoroughly frightened about my future; once I’m ready to exercise my sexual rights, it’s possible that everyone else will be contaminated.
