Alpharel Inc. Reports Loss for 1st Quarter

Alpharel Inc., a struggling Camarillo-based producer of data storage equipment, reported a $313,000 loss for the first quarter, compared with a $2.18-million loss a year earlier.

The loss in the latest quarter that ended March 31 came on a slight decline in Alpharel’s revenue, to $1.1 million from $1.22 million.

The reduced loss partly reflected a big decline in the company’s operating costs, which were slashed 71% to $693,000 in the latest quarter from $2.35 million a year earlier.
