Donald A. Wiedmann, 60, who served for more than a decade as the top staff officer of the California Assn. of Realtors until his retirement in 1989. Wiedmann was selected as executive vice president of the 140,000-member trade group in June, 1978, midway through his term as the association’s president, a one-year elective office. He was the first official in the association’s history to have served in both positions. Wiedmann began his real estate career in San Diego in 1960 after a 10-year career with the Navy. He operated a general real estate brokerage company in the Mission Bay area of San Diego until moving to Los Angeles in 1978.
