Eddie Murphy may be one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but fellow actor Danny Glover says he’s unimpressed by what Murphy has done with his clout.

Pointing to last year’s “Harlem Nights,” which Murphy wrote, directed and starred in, Glover said: “Once again blacks are portrayed as foul-mouthed, crap-shooting gangsters having a good time in Harlem.

“These are acceptable conditions to most audiences, since we’ve been seen often enough in these circumstances.”

Glover, who rocketed to stardom as Mel Gibson’s partner in “Lethal Weapon,” said he tries to take roles that challenge attitudes and stereotypes.

“I’m doing ‘Predator II’ instead of (Arnold) Schwarzenegger,” he said in the May 6 issue of Parade magazine. “It’s not a black or white part, it’s just a good role.”
