General Automation Sees Profit More Than Triple

Share

General Automation Inc., the Anaheim-based computer systems manufacturer, posted net income of $475,000 for its third fiscal quarter, up more than threefold from the $103,000 reported for the comparable period a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended March 31 rose 5% to $12 million. For the latest nine months, the company reported a loss of $1.8 million on sales of $29.3 million.

Leonard N. Mackenzie, vice chairman and president of General Automation, said that the “substantial improvement evident in our third-quarter results is particularly gratifying in light of the flat business conditions prevailing throughout much of our industry.”

He said that while CIE Systems, acquired in January, contributed to the quarter’s results, domestic operations also had improved sales and profits.
