Representatives of about 12,000 machinists at McDonnell Douglas Corp. said they reached tentative agreement on a new contract with company negotiators--less than 24 hours before the old pact was to expire. Agreement was reached in Hazelwood, Mo., after a 14-hour negotiating session, said Cassell Williams, president of District 837 of the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Details of the new agreement were not released, pending a full vote by the union membership today. The principal element in the talks centered on wage issues.
