Several vital pieces of evidence that could help convict a colonel charged in the November slaying of six Jesuit priests and two women have disappeared, the New York Times reported, citing Salvadoran judicial sources. Also, at least four soldiers who were scheduled to testify have been sent abroad to study, the officials said.
