Paramount Theatre Stays Single; Pacific Theatres and Buena Vista have scrapped plans to turn the historic Paramount Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard into two theaters. The 65-year-old Paramount will instead be restored to its original interior. The Hollywood Project Area Committee and the L.A. Historic Theater Foundation had asked that the theater be restored. The theater is to reopen in September under its original name, El Capitan.
