EIP Microwave Inc.: The Newport Beach manufacturer said general softness in the test and measurement markets resulted in declines in net income and sales for its fiscal 1990 second quarter ended March 31. Net income fell to $2,000 from $242,000 for the period a year earlier. Sales declined 15% to $2.9 million from $3.4 million. Net income for the six-month period was $221,000, contrasted with $50,000 for the period the year before. Sales declined 5% to $6.2 million from $6.5 million. The six-month results for the previous year reflected a pretax charge to operations of $1.1 million from the writedown of assets and also a gain of $748,000 from an accounting change.
