3-D Systems Reports $400,621 in Profit

3-D Systems Inc. said it earned $400,621 in the first quarter ended March 31, on sales of $7.2 million. A year earlier, 3-D reported a net loss of $1.8 million on sales of $1.6 million.

3-D is a Canadian company whose sole production unit, 3D Systems, is based in Valencia. The company attributed the latest profit to increased sales of its primary product, a machine that combines a laser, a computer and chemicals to rapidly make three-dimensional models of parts and packaging goods used in various industries.
