MCI to Pay Its First Dividend: MCI Communications Corp., the nation’s second-largest long-distance phone company, will pay its first-ever dividend on common stock--5 cents per share--starting next month, MCI Chairman William G. McGowan told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting. MCI plans to pay a semiannual dividend of 5 cents. The dividend is payable June 11 to shareholders of record on May 21.
