WORLD : 60 Die in Zaire Quarry Collapse

KINSHASA, Zaire —
A tin quarry collapsed in eastern Zaire, killing 60 people, the state news agency reported today.
Rescue workers who dug down nearly 70 feet have recovered 20 bodies, the agency said. The cave-in occurred Monday at Salambila, near the border with Rwanda.
