Workers Disrupt Pan Am Meeting: More than 150 union employees, angry at Pan Am Corp.’s losses and lack of a Teamsters labor contract, jeered and threatened to strike during the airline company’s annual meeting in Miami. Pan Am Chairman Thomas Plaskett said the carrier would lose money again in 1990 but added that losses would be “significantly” reduced due to cost-cutting measures. He also said the firm has been unsuccessful in finding a merger or buyout partner.
