Carlin Heads LSD Benefit: Comedian George Carlin will headline a benefit to help promote scientific LSD research. The May 23 event at Hollywood Live will help fund a permanent site for the Albert Hoffman Foundation, the world’s largest archives of LSD research. Hoffman discovered the psychedelic drug in 1938. Joining Carlin will be LSD authority Timothy Leary.
