LETTERS IN VIEW : Backlash Against ‘Beaver’ Banality

The school principals who have successfully caused a prominent retailer to abandon the sale of the Bart Simpson T-shirts have taken aim at a meaningless target. Educators, it seems, often seek to attack purported problems that have nothing to do with the quality of education. A little humor on a T-shirt does not adversely affect the educational process. Poorly focused administrators, bloated bureaucracies and incompetent teachers are far more consequential.
