Turkish-Armenian Controversy

Share

In response to Marashlian’s article, I can only say to him:

You want to bring your ethnic values to America and rather than becoming a good American citizen, you want all of America to help perpetuate your own agenda. While any decent American commiserates with the Armenian tragedy 75 years ago, do we, as Americans have to take an anti-Turkish position when we Americans have our own grieving to take up our time! The tragedy of our Vietnam veterans for one and also the veterans who were victims of radiation.

And so, in all fairness, please take your anger to the obvious recipient, the Turks. Although any thinking American understands and has empathy for your cause, like Lithuania today, don’t make us play the “devil’s advocate” by forcing President Bush to denounce the Turks as a matter of foreign policy.
