Speedway Main Event Won by Schwartz

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,846 at the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Alan Christian of Murrieta was even with Schwartz for two laps before Schwartz pulled away. Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was third and Mike Faria of Colton fourth.

Faria won the handicap main event. Shawn McConnell of Brea was second, Louis Kossuth of Brea third, Josh Larsen of Costa Mesa fourth and Steve Lucero of Riverside fifth.
