In Mahler’s article, a small yet vital misrepresentation was made of those involved with letter-writing campaigns and economic boycotts aimed at TV advertisers.

Mahler says our objections are against shows considered “excessively violent, sexual, profane or ‘un-Christian.’ ”

More accurately (and significantly different), we are against anti- Christian programming.

I do not seek the institution of Christian-only television. I do, however, strongly object to the continual stereotyping of Christians, in all aspects of media and entertainment.

The acknowledged policies of Clorox, GM and others supposedly prohibit association with programs that, among other things, dishonor or disparage religious groups. We will continue to call advertisers to account for their financial support of any programming that denigrates the Christian community.
