SHORT TAKES : Roseanne Loses in Mom Poll

Bad news for Roseanne. When it comes to TV role models for parents, many Americans wish they could Barr “Roseanne” from the airwaves.

Roseanne Conner, the blue-collar mother portrayed by Roseanne Barr on “The Roseanne Barr Show,” was selected as the least-favorite TV mom in America today in a recent survey of 600 parents of school-age children in California, Michigan and Louisiana. The survey was sponsored by the not-for-profit Independent Order of Foresters, a fraternal organization that is using the survey results to help develop a series of free effective parenting seminars across the country. The group’s favorite mom? Claire Huxtable of “The Cosby Show.”
