N.Y. Critics Honor ‘Piano Lesson’: “The Piano Lesson” by August Wilson has been chosen as best play of the 1989-90 theater season by the New York Drama Critics Circle. It was the fourth time Wilson has won the best play award. “Privates on Parade” was picked as best foreign play, and “City of Angels” won best musical.
