Alpha Microsystems: The Santa Ana-based computer company reported that net income for its fiscal 1990 year ended Feb. 25 dropped to $772,000 from $3.3 million for the previous year. Sales rose 8% to $55.9 million from $51.6 million. For the fourth quarter, net income totaled $20,000, contrasted with $1.2 million for the comparable period a year earlier. Sales rose 11% to $15.1 million from $13.6 million. Robert B. Hitchcock, chairman and chief executive, said the revenue increase resulted from acquisitions and an increase in service business. However, he said expenses were higher than last year and more lower-margin products and services were sold.
