Woman Dies, Nugget Guard Lichti Hurt in Crash
Denver Nugget guard Todd Lichti was injured in a one-car accident that killed the driver Thursday.
Lichti, a former Stanford basketball star, suffered an open fracture in his right foot and multiple cuts in the accident on Interstate 80, 30 miles east of Lovelock, Nev. He was flown to Denver for surgery on his foot at Rose Medical Center. Doctors there said it was too early to determine the effect the injury might have on Lichti’s career.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said Lichti, 22, was a passenger in the car that ran off the highway at about 7:15 a.m., PDT, and overturned in the median. The driver, Kristin Gravrock, 23, of Bellevue, Wash., was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigating officers said she had apparently fallen asleep.
