Scottish Gaffes

With regard to the Bernard J. Golbus article “Scottish Mansion Is Tribute to 45-Minute War” (April 29), I have three comments:

Surely, when Golbus wrote, “A hawk glides over the heath in a balletic display of aerobics,” he meant “aerobatics?”

When he listed the “sites worth exploring near Inverness” he included “Elgin, where King Duncan was killed in combat by Macbeth.” Even a high school student knows that the central event at the beginning of Macbeth is the murder of Duncan by Macbeth with Lady Macbeth as his accomplice!

My third comment is a strictly personal one. It has to do with the listing of accommodations near the site of Culloden. It ranges from $200 per night to a measly $95. These are prices that would scare me away from the place if I thought of going. Fortunately, I have been there and I can assure your readers that much cheaper and comfortable lodgings are available in the area.
