Datametrics Posts Gain in Earnings for Quarter

Datametrics Corp., a Chatsworth-based producer of printers and other equipment for the military, reported earnings of $183,590 in its fiscal second quarter compared with a $623,227 loss a year earlier.

The profit in the quarter that ended April 29 came on a slight gain in revenue--to $7.41 million from $7.20 million--and reflected cost-cutting efforts and more efficient manufacturing operations, Datametrics said.

For the first half of its fiscal year, Datametrics reported a $320,323 profit, compared with a $1.85-million loss a year earlier. Its six-month revenue rose to $14.1 million from $13 million.
