Fluor Daniel, the primary construction and engineering subsidiary of Fluor Corp., said Monday that it has received a $19-million contract to engineer and build a unit to boost gasoline production at a refinery in Artesia, N.M.

Navajo Refining Co., a subsidiary of Dallas-based Holly Corp., awarded the contract to Fluor in Irvine to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project, which is slated for completion in mid-1991.

Fluor Daniel said the new unit, called a continuous catalytic regeneration platform, will increase Navajo’s gasoline production from 40,000 to 60,000 barrels per day.

Fluor Daniel also said it has received two contracts from South Carolina Electric & Gas Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of SCANA Corp., to provide services for a nuclear power station in Jacksonville, S.C. The value of the contracts was not disclosed.

One contract calls for Fluor to provide maintenance and modification services and is a one-year extension of an existing contract. Under another contract, Fluor will begin to provide housekeeping and decontamination services at the site.
