President Bush’s daughter, Dorothy LeBlond, has resigned from the Maine Office of Tourism, effective Friday, and apparently plans to move to Washington with her two children.

LeBlond, 30, has been the coordinator of meetings and conferences for the tourism office in Portland for 15 months.

She was given a send-off last week at the annual Tourism Unity Dinner, a gathering of state tourism officials. Gov. John R. McKernan gave her a dozen red roses.

LeBlond and her husband, William LeBlond, lived in Cape Elizabeth until they separated last August after an eight-year marriage. She filed for divorce in January.

LeBlond, reached at her Portland office, would not discuss her plans. The director of the 500-member Maine Innkeepers Assn., Ed Langlois, said Monday that LeBlond told him that she will move to Washington.
