Oakland Firm Boosts Pacific Western Stake

Oakland-based Alpha Capital Co. Inc. has increased its stake in Pacific Western Bancshares Inc. of San Jose from 3.7% to 5.1%--or 623,828 shares.

Alpha Capital bought 171,200 shares of Pacific Western the last two months at prices of $11.50 to $12.25 each, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
