Another School to Sell Tobacco Stocks: Tobacco company stocks worth $3.5 million will be sold by City University of New York in a protest move similar to one at Harvard University. “The policy is that the university will divest itself of its stocks in companies that manufacture cigarettes,” City University spokeswoman Rita Rodin said. “They will do it in a way that will not adversely affect the university’s portfolio.” The portfolio had a value of about $60 million.
