American Medical Sues Over Sale: American Medical International Inc. filed a breach-of-contract suit Wednesday, seeking $900,000 plus interest after the sale of a hospital fell through last year. The case says Jesse J. Umali agreed to buy Glendora Community Hospital from a subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based American Medical last October for $8.5 million. Damages plus 12% interest are sought because Umali failed to make payments on time, the suit says. The hospital eventually was sold to another buyer. (Filed May 23, 1990. Case No. BC001807)
