Air Pollution-Measuring Company Reports Loss

Pollution Research and Control Corp., a Glendale maker of air pollution-measuring devices, reported an $84,000 loss for its fiscal third quarter that ended March 31, compared with earnings of $51,000 for the same period the previous year.
The loss came despite a 49% increase in the company’s revenue, to $1.56 million from $1.05 million.
For the latest nine-month period, Pollution Research lost $400,000, compared with $326,000 in net income a year earlier, while its revenue climbed 31% to $4.32 million from $3.3 million.
The company, which last December changed its name from Dasibi Environmental Corp., blamed the losses on costs related to its acquisition of Air Instruments & Measurements last August and the closing of its Texas hardware operations.
