Japanese, West German Lines Take DHL Stake: Japan Airlines and Deutsche Lufthansa have entered the door-to-door package delivery service by taking a major stake in air courier DHL, JAL said. It, Lufthansa and Nissho Iwai Corp. will each take a 12.5% stake in two holding companies of DHL World Express. No price details were available. DHL will use JAL and Lufthansa planes to ship packages. Operations will be based in Brussels and the Redwood City, Calif., head office of DHL Corp. of America, the U.S.-based holding company of the DHL network.
