PITTSBURGH — Westinghouse Electric Corp.’s board of directors today elected Paul Lego chairman and chief executive officer effective July 1 to replace retiring executive John Marous.
The decision was expected since the company’s board announced in 1987 its plans to replace Marous with Lego, who has been the corporation’s president and chief operating officer the last three years.
Marous, 65, will retire at the end of June after serving as CEO since 1987. He joined Westinghouse in 1949.
Lego, 60, will become the company’s 13th chief executive since the founding of the company 104 years ago by George Westinghouse.
