California as a Trend-Setter and Opposition to Prop. 111
I believe Peirce is correct in saying “California today is every other state tomorrow.” I disagree with his conclusion about Proposition 111. Californians turned to foreign cars because they provided better value for their dollars. Californians will reject poor quality.
Our politicians have created a foul-smelling hole in downtown Los Angeles. This hole is way behind schedule and way over budget. It will be many years before it goes anywhere useful.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated example of not using tax revenue properly. Remember when Gov. Jerry Brown’s Administration decided to stop spending our gas taxes on new highways? Californians will pay for quality.
