Gerald S. Jakubowski has been named dean of Loyola Marymount University’s College of Science and Engineering. Currently interim dean of engineering and professor of mechanical engineering at Memphis State University, Jakubowski will succeed Joseph Callinan, who has held the position since 1981. After a sabbatical, Callinan will return to the faculty as a professor of mechanical engineering. Jakubowski holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Toledo in Ohio. He and his wife, Kathryn, have two children, Jerrold, 12, and Jamie, 9.
