SIMI VALLEY : Police Hunt Suspect in Man’s Stabbing
Police continued Thursday to search for the person who stabbed a 23-year-old Simi Valley man in the stomach with a kitchen knife and fled.
Juan Ortiz was stabbed about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at a house in the 900 block of Dennis Street, said Lt. Neal Rein of the Simi Valley police.
Witnesses told police that Ortiz had been fighting with a man inside the residence, Rein said. During the altercation, the man went to the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed Ortiz, Rein said.
Police do not know the reason for the fight, and the identity of the stabber has not been confirmed, Rein said.
Ortiz was taken to the Simi Valley Adventist Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery, Rein said.
