Former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin was released Thursday from a hospital after two weeks of treatment for pneumonia, officials said.

Begin, 76, who won a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in making peace with Egypt, was taken to the hospital May 16 after complaining of weakness. He was later diagnosed as having pneumonia.
