Sony Announces DAT Plans: Sony Corp. became the most recent Japanese electronics maker to announce the introduction of digital audio tape players for the United States market. Sony said it will begin to sell two DAT player models--priced between $900 and $950--later this month. The company also said it will introduce blank DAT tape priced between $12 and $18 and prerecorded classical tapes selling for about $20.
