Salomon Bros. to Aid Eastern Europe: The firm is to raise $200 million in private funds for investment in the region. Overseas Private Investment Corp., a federal agency that supports American investment in developing countries, said Salomon was chosen to raise the money for the new Eastern European Growth Fund. Salomon will also serve as a financial adviser to the fund.
