Rev Up Your Motor

Share

A 1966 Jaguar Roadster. A 1930 Lincoln Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton. The sixth annual Deer Park Concours d’Elegance Auto Show this Sunday in Escondido has them, and more.

A diverse collection of antique, classic, sports and contemporary cars will offer something for the whole family. If the 1931 Pierce Arrow Convertible Coupe doesn’t rev your motor, perhaps the array of Packards will pique your interest.

More than 100 cars from all over Southern California are entered in this year’s show. They will be displayed throughout the park and will be judged by a team of car aficionados. Criteria include physical condition and authenticity.

In addition to the auto exhibit, there will be a vintage clothing contest and chicken barbecue.

Last year’s auto show drew more than 3,000 people to the park. The guest of honor is David R. Holls, director of design at General Motors.

Deer Park is a combination car museum and farmer’s market with wine tastings. Open for business since 1982, it is located nine miles north of Escondido on Champagne Boulevard adjacent to Lawrence Welk Village.
