Change is always wrenching. To go from a Cold War economy to a peacetime economy is job wrenching, and to go from an economy of environmental destruction to one of harmony with nature is equally disturbing to those whose incomes depend on pollution, radiation or the irresponsible exploitation of our natural resources.
Theoretically, most humans want to save our planet. The monkeywrenchers ask the telling question: “What are we willing to give up for it?”
