The Laguna Art Museum has acquired a 1961 Bruce Connor assemblage titled “Cross.” The three-foot-tall wood, metal and mixed-media work, made during the peak of the San Francisco artist’s activity in assemblage, was purchased partially with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts. It will be shown in rotating exhibits of the museum’s permanent collection. Connor was influential in the development of California art in the 1960s.
