Nestle to Consolidate: Nestle Holdings Inc. plans to reorganize several of its businesses in the United States, including its coffee and ice cream operations. The coffee units of Nestle Foods Co. will be joined with Nestle-owned Hills Bros. Coffee Co. to form Nestle-Hills Coffee Co. The new San Francisco-based firm will include the brands Nescafe, Hills Bros. and Tasters Choice. The ice cream and dairy businesses of Nestle and Carnation Co. will be combined to form Nestle Ice Cream Co., which will market all brands currently handled by the two separate units. Major manufacturing plants for the ice cream unit will be managed from Los Angeles.
