American Cytogenetics named M. L. Back as president and chief executive to succeed Al Manzano, who resigned.
The North Hollywood-based company, through its Cancer Screen Services unit, operates medical testing labs and has struggled in recent years. As it announced Back’s promotion, American Cytogenetics also reported a $935,018 loss for its fiscal year that ended Jan. 31.
Back, the company’s third president in the past year, previously was vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer of the company. She earlier held various management posts with Cooper Cos.
