El Monte : Block Grant Funds OKd
The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve allocation of $2,036,129 in Community Development Block Grant Funds for fiscal 1990-91.
Among the projects earmarked for the funds are $714,000 for financial assistance and code enforcement services to low- and moderate-income residents; $239,544 for public works projects; $100,000 for upgrading the city’s community center; $85,000 for a Boy’s Club graffiti removal program, and $40,000 for a latchkey program sponsored by the Mid-Valley Manpower Consortium.
